Questions before you start
Do we need a print server?
No. Nothing to install between your PCs and your printers: the Diwink agent holds each document on the PC itself, until your rules allow it.
What if the server stops responding?
Each PC keeps applying the last rules it received, with its share of the quotas and the limits you set. Its print records reach the server as soon as the connection is back.
Do we need Active Directory?
No. On Diwink Cloud, everyone signs in to their Diwink account with their work e-mail address. On Diwink Server, users come from Diwink, from Active Directory, or both.
Can an employee get around Diwink?
Without administrator rights, an employee can neither stop nor uninstall the agent. The rules sent to the PCs are signed, and on network printers an alert flags the pages printed outside Diwink.
How do we install the agent?
The panel gives you the MSI package and its install command, to run on each PC or deploy by Group Policy or Intune.
Which PCs and printers?
Windows 10 and 11 PCs, printing to network or USB printers.
In which languages?
The panel, the app and the e-mails speak French, English and Arabic; in Arabic, everything reads right to left.
