Only the users allowed to deploy the agents (the Administrator role, for one) create the tokens and download the package. A token is shown only once.
Diwink Server: from Fikra Systems
To install Diwink in your company, Fikra Systems provides two packages, with your licence key or for a trial.
Diwink-Server-<version>-setup.exeThe server’s setup, on a Windows server or PC: the admin panel, the Diwink service and its own database. Its window is in French, English or Arabic.
Diwink-<version>.msiThe PCs’ package, the same as on Diwink Cloud: the agent and the Diwink app.
Once the server is installed, open the panel at its address (https://<server>:8443/) and activate Diwink on the Licence page: with a key from Fikra Systems, with a licence file for a server without internet access, or with the 30-day trial.
What each PC needs
The PCs’ package is the same for Diwink Cloud and for Diwink Server.
Each PC
| Windows | Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit |
|---|---|
| Hardware | Nothing beyond Windows’ own needs |
| Software | None: the package carries what it needs |
| Installation | An administrator account |
| Network, Diwink Cloud | Outbound HTTPS to https://app.diwink.fikrasystems.com; to monitor the network printers, SNMP (UDP 161) from the PCs to the printers |
| Network, Diwink Server | HTTPS to your server (TCP 8443 by default) |
Diwink Server’s own server and its network are described with Diwink Server, on-premises.
The Diwink app
Installed with the agent, it starts at every Windows sign-in, in the notification area: a green dot when the PC is connected, an amber one when it applies its rules offline.
My status
Their quotas and what is left of them, the printers they may use, the blocks in force.
Clear notifications
A document refused, with the reason; a request approved or rejected; a quota nearly used up.
My requests
Access to a printer, extra pages for the period or a higher limit, always with a reason.
My history
Their own print jobs: when, on which printer, how many pages and with what result.
Shared PCs
Each person signs in with their Diwink account to print on their own quota, even offline if they signed in on that PC before.
Its language and look
French, English or Arabic, chosen when the PC is installed. Light or dark, like Windows.
Updates and removal
- Update a PC. Install the new package like the first one, without its properties: it replaces the old version and keeps the PC enrolled.
- Remove Diwink from a PC. Uninstall it from Settings › Apps, as an administrator, or with
msiexec /x Diwink-<version>.msi /qn, then revoke the PC in the panel: its place is freed. - Update Diwink Server. Run the setup of the new version, after a copy of the database: it keeps the settings, the data and the certificate, and upgrades the database.
- On Diwink Cloud. Fikra Systems keeps the service up to date; on your side, only the PCs are updated, with the new package from the panel.
